Chalet Dakota is a large, individual chalet with 7 bedrooms and the ability to sleep up to 15 people. Located in a pine forest, our ski chalet rental in the Alps has a rustic, slated roof and mountain design perfect for your ski holiday. Additionally, the chalet was recently renovated in 2022 with high-end materials, including old mountain wood and stones in the spirit of alpine chalets

One of the highlights of Chalet Dakota is its vast and open living space, which make it a great self catered ski chalet. Located on the second floor, this area includes a cozy living room, a spacious kitchen, a grand dining table and a corner living room. The living room has ample seating surrounding a wood burning fireplace ideal for sharing a warm drink around the fire after a day on the mountain. Our open plan kitchen comes with all the appliances you would need and has more than enough space for everyone to help in preparing the meals. Once the meals are ready, gather around the grand dining table to enjoy each other's company. The corner living room is fully stocked with board games and a small library. Additionally, there is a sprawling terrace located outside the living area, through sliding long glass windows so you can marvel at the steep slopes from inside or outside the chalet.

The 7 bedrooms are located on both the first and third floor, allowing for the separation of rest and rejuvenation in the private bedroom with the fun and liveliness of the common spaces. There are 4 bedrooms on the third floor and 2 bedrooms on the first floor. Each bathroom comes with its own bathroom and toilet. You can request bath and bed linens upon your arrival.

Chalet Dakota also has some unique, luxury amenities. On the ground floor, you will find a sauna, a TV room and a large ski room. The sauna is made of the finest red cedar wood and has enough space for up to 5 people. It also comes with an attached shower and toilet. The cozy TV room has big, comfortable cushions perfect for enjoying a movie as a group. This room has all the recent media with DVDs and the capacity to connect to Netflix, Prime Video and Orange TV. You can also connect any gaming devices you might have. The ski room is large and can fit any ski equipment you may have. Here, you can leave your skis, snowboards, poles, goggles and snow shoes. Also, there is a ski boots and gloves dryer for up to 16 pairs each. 

On the first floor, you will also find a laundry room. Here, we have a washing machine and a dryer. There are also drying racks, an ironing board and an iron.

This mountain chalet rental is very well located, in the middle of a pine forest just 3 minutes from the ski slopes of La Plagne and the center of the Plagne 1800 resort.

This alpine village started out as a silver lead mine, housing many miners. In the 1970s, everything changed when this place was transformed into a pretty high-end ski resort with small mountain chalets. The town still cherishes its roots as you can see when entering the mine converted into a museum in 2011 and with the bar "La Mine" in the center.

Another interesting historical place in Plagne 1800 is the Olympic bobsleigh track. This track was built for the 1992 Olympic games. There has always been a very strong local tradition of bobsleigh and luge. You can even try the Olympic track in a Bob Raft and reach up to 80 km/h. If you are even more daring, you can try your hand at a Speed ​​Luge or Bob Racing driven by a professional driver and reaching speeds of up to 120 km/h.

The first residences were built in 1980 at the top of Plagne 1800. Chalet Dakota was one of them. These rustic mountain chalets have a winter character with their slate roofs, wooden construction and stone accents. These chalets are located in the middle of a pine forest while being very close to the town centre.

Today, the village has everything you would need during your chalet holiday in the mountains. In Plagne 1800 you will find a SPAR supermarket, a bakery, a few ski equipment rental shops, a tourist office, restaurants and bars. The centre is only a 5-minute walk from the chalet on a well-maintained forest path. Also, just below the chalet, on the snow front, you will find the ESF, the ski pass shop and the ski lifts. The ski school offers English lessons for all ages and levels.

Whether you come in the winter or summer there are plenty of activities that will be enjoyed by the whole family. Take full advantage of your ski holidays.

During winter in the French Alps, you can do downhill skiing, cross-country skiing and ski touring. The Paradiski area has different levels of steepness and slopes for all levels of skier or snowboarder. The mountain is comprised of 425 km of slopes in the French Alps connected by the summits. If you prefer cross-country or nordic skiing, there are many different tracks for you to enjoy. Some of our favorites include the Dou du Praz track, the Piste des Frasses track and the Piste des Mariers track. All of these tracks offer stunning views of the mountain and give you exclusive access to the forest. Ski touring is also a very popular activity for residents of La Plagne.

If you want a break from the mountain, there are many other winter activities in town. These include snowshoeing around the chalet, a luxury spa and an ice skating rink. Snowshoes will give you access to parts of the magical forest only accessible to pedestrians. Our favorite trail is the Bief Bovet Snowshoe hike that goes along a small stream that was dug in the 13th century. Along the path, there are 80 wood panels detailing the rich history of the trail. This luxury spa chalet has a heated, outdoor swimming pool and two different spa areas for both families and relaxation. This spa offers amazing views of the mountain so you can relax and unwind in beauty. There are two ice skating rinks at your disposal in La Plagne and is the perfect activity for family fun.

Once the snow has melted, La Plagne offers many amazing summer activities as well. Try your hand at biking, hiking, Via Ferrata, and many more. La Plagne offers many different options for biking including mountain biking, enduro biking, electric biking and even has a 1300 sq m pump track.
