The Balcon du Bozelet is a must for mountain lovers. This place offers breathtaking views of the Vanoise glaciers and the neighboring resorts of Méribel and Courchevel. Ideally located for a break between two descents, it is the perfect spot for a picnic while enjoying a panoramic view. After your meal, why not take advantage of the nearby bar “Le balcon du Bozelet” for a coffee or hot chocolate?

A brand-new free indoor picnic room has just opened in December 2025 at Roche de Mio. You now have the opportunity to eat in the warmth, with family or friends, around large indoor tables. Hot drink dispensers and toilets are available on-site. Very pleasant with a lovely panorama. We recommend it for bad weather days or simply when you need to warm up. You should arrive by 11:45 AM to secure one of the 10 large family tables.
2. Between the Puy du Fou and Capella slopes: Picnic in an enchanting setting
For a more authentic experience, I recommend the spot between the Puy du Fou and Capella slopes, just above the chalets of Plagne Centre. This place is surrounded by snow-capped canyons and pine trees, creating a peaceful atmosphere and a perfect setting for a mountain picnic. This place allows you to escape and enjoy a quiet moment before hitting the slopes again. From this picnic spot, those tied of skiing can return directly by ski to their ski in ski out chalet.
3. Dou du Praz: a picnic spot in La Plagne for the whole family
Finally, for a family experience, the walk leading to Dou du Praz is ideal. This easy 4 km route on foot from Plagne Village offers picnic tables at the summit and clear views of the Alpine peaks. It’s a perfect place for skiers and non-skiers to meet for lunch. Skiers will have to take the small “Dou du Praz” lift to join their pedestrian friends.
4. Under the Rossa chairlift: An easily accessible lunch at altitude
In the Champany sector, under the Rossa chairlift, you will find a sunny natural area right next to a sheepfold, perfect for a picnic. This spot is located between the Rossa and Sérac slopes, and allows skiers to stop at altitude to enjoy a meal with a great view on many ski chalets to rent of the Belleville Valley (Courchevel, Meribel et Les Menuires). It’s one of my favorite places for a relaxed break surrounded by nature.
5. The red slope “Sources”: Lunch break in the snow with a nice panorama
Along the red Sources slope, linking Roche de Mio to Belle Plagne, you will find several sunny rocks which are perfect for a lunch break. These spots allow you to picnic while enjoying an exceptional panorama of the valley. Experienced skiers will appreciate this place for its calm and magnificent view.
