From the village, the chalets are easily accessible by a small footpath that goes up through the trees behind the SPAR supermarket.
Most of these cabins are owned by the original families who built these cabins when the resort first launched in the 1980s. These families typically meet at their chalets during the holidays or the February vacation. For these reasons, there are few chalets to rent in La Plagne for 14 people.

Plagne 1800 is a family resort with an extremely rich history. This winter destination will quench your desire for peace, tranquility and nature. This resort is particularly suitable for groups looking for a ski chalet rental in the Alps.
Located at an altitude of 1800 meters, the Plagne 1800 station is sitting on the site of a former silver lead mine. Until the 1960s, the village housed accommodation for miners, a canteen and administrative offices for the mine. The Charles-Albert gallery, the main entrance to the mine, was located right next to the bar "La Mine" in the center of the Plagne 1800 station. Part of the mine was also rehabilitated in 2011 to make it a museum.
Bobsleigh used to be the most popular sport in the village. For many, it is no coincidence that La Plagne was chosen to install the Olympic bobsleigh track. There has always been a strong local tradition of bobsleigh and tobogganing. Competitions were organized on the roads between the mine canteen and the village of La Roche, below, where the ore was processed.
In 1975, the abandoned mines land was deemed suitable for the installation of a new ski resort. The first residences, including Chalet Dakota, were built in 1980 in the upper part of the village. These chalets were built in the traditional cabin style and with mountain spirit. The station opened in 1982.
While being extremely accessible, Plagne 1800 benefits from the softness of a forest environment and aesthetic architecture, which, today, make it one of the prettiest resorts in the Paradiski area.
