Chalet Dakota is a spacious “friends and family” chalet located in the heart of the La Plagne ski resort in a peaceful pine forest. Whether you are a group of 10, 12 or 15 people, this self-catered chalet has a spacious living room for gathering around the fire after a long day on the mountain. The ensuite bedrooms are located on a separate level from the common spaces allowing for the separation of spots for rest and liveliness.
In terms of equipment, the chalet has a large ski room, a TV room, wifi, a desk with Ethernet cable to work remotely, a sauna and a private parking space.
The chalet was fully renovated between the Spring and Fall of 2022 to ensure an even better ski holiday in the Alps, this winter season. Upon arrival and during your whole stay, you will be taken care of by Stephanie, our concierge.
The exteriors
Our chalet has an idyllic location. Just 200m from the shops of Plagne 1800 and 150m from the ski slopes, everything you would need is walking distance from the chalet. The chalet has a large, south-west facing balcony, with a panoramic view of the forest, the lauze roofs of Plagne 1800 and the mountain resort of Aime 2000.
The extensive ski area will delight all winter sport lovers with the variety of snowsports activities and favorable, well groomed terrain for downhill skiing, snowboarding, off piste ski, cross-country skiing, backcountry skiing and snowshoeing. The chalet is located at an altitude of 1800m, guaranteeing unbeatable snow conditions for skiers and snowboarders during the full ski season.
For beginners who want to learn to ski or snowboard, there is a ski school located very close to the chalet on the snow front of Plagne 1800 offering individual or group lessons for skiing or snowboarding. In town, there is a ski rental shop where you can find all the rental equipment you would need for the mountain. On the snow front, very close to the chairlift, you can purchase your lift-ticket with passes ranging from day use to season pass.

The living room, fireplace atmosphere
The chalet includes spacious living areas with breathtaking views of the stunning mountain range, a wood-burning fireplace, a children’s living room with a library and board games, and a large dining table.
The living room has plentiful seating with two large couches on either side of the log fireplace. There is also a wood coffee table in the middle with space for games, drinks or anything else you might enjoy around the log fire. Also in the living room, there is a grand dining table to enjoy a warm meal around after a long day on the mountain.
Located on the second floor, the living space has ample windows, providing lots of natural light and expansive mountain views of the alpine forest. Just through the sliding glass doors, there is a sizable terrace. Here, you can savor the beauty of La Plagne and take in the fresh smell of the snowy pine trees.

The kitchen, large and open
Chalet Dakota has a state of the art kitchen fully equipped with all the tools necessary to prepare gourmet meals for your group during your luxury ski vacation. With an open layout, the kitchen has more than enough space to comfortably prepare meals together without being too crowded. Additionally, the kitchen contains two sinks and all the dishware and silverware necessary for you to enjoy your meals at Chalet Dakota.
The kitchen has a large refrigerator, two dishwashers, two ovens, a microwave, a large hob and a freezer.
Additionally, the kitchen has several small appliances including a traditional fondue and raclette kit, a toaster, a coffee maker, and an espresso machine.
The bedrooms, spread over 3 levels for more privacy
The chalet has 7 independent bedrooms, each equipped with their own bathrooms and toilet, and has lodging capabilities of up to 15 guests.
On the ground floor, the Banzai room has 1 valet size bed with space for 2 people. On the first floor, the Frisbee and Mio rooms each have 1 valet size bed with space for 2 people. The top floor has 4 bedrooms. The Hara Kiri room has two single beds with room for 2 people. The Samba and Mont de la Guerre rooms each have 3 single beds and rooms for 3 people. The Kamikaze room has 1 valet size bed and room for 2 guests. Additionally, there is a cot available in the chalet for families with young children.
Upon your request, bath and bed linen can be rented and installed for your arrival.
A bath-shower area for each bedroom
All seven of the bedrooms come with their own bathroom and toilet. Both the Frisbee room and the Hara Kiri room have a bathroom with a bathtub. The Mio room, Samba room, Mont de la Guerre room and Kamikaze room each have a bathroom with a shower. The Banzai room, on the base floor, uses the sauna shower and its adjacent toilets.
Our chalet is equipped with 4 water tanks, so you never have to worry about running out of hot water or wait for your turn when you return home after a long day on the mountain.
On the first floor, there is a laundry room that is outfitted with a washing machine, a tumble dryer, drying racks and an iron with a table.
Bath linens (towels and bath mats) are available on request.
A large red cedar Sauna for amateur of well-being
As a skier or snowboarder, what is the best after a long, cold day on the slopes? On the ground floor, you will find a tailor made, red cedar sauna perfect for relaxing with the family after a long day of winter activities. Our sauna can hold up to 5 people at once.
Additionally, this wellness area has a shower and a separate toilet.
A TV room, convertible into a 7th bedroom
On the ground floor, there is a charming, cabin style TV room with large pullout cushions perfect for enjoying your favorite movie or TV show. The TV room is stocked with the latest media with access to Netflix, Prime Video, Orange TV and a plethora of DVDs. You can also have the option to plug in your game console to the TV.
The large mattress can be transformed into a 7th bedroom and is composed of 3 mattresses. This room can use the shower and toilets of the adjacent sauna located on the ground floor.
A large ski room
Additionally on the ground floor, there is a spacious ski room that allows you to prepare and store all your mountain gear for the day ahead.
On your return from the mountain, Chalet Dakota is equipped with a large room to leave all your ski and snowboard equipment. You can store your skis, poles, helmets, gloves, boots and ski suits to dry. An added plus are the ski boots and gloves dryer. Each dryer has space for 16 pairs.
Plastic bins are available under the benches to place your snow boots and take advantage of the underfloor heating that is present throughout the chalet.
