The Dakota & Utah Collection: Two Exceptional Refuges in La Plagne 1800

Our collection consists of two flagship properties, Chalet Dakota and Chalet Utah, designed to meet the requirements of large groups and families looking for a chalet rental in La Plagne for 15 people.

Chalet Dakota: Our Signature Historic Chalet

As the flagship of our collection, Chalet Dakota underwent a complete renovation in 2022. Every material, from local stone to brushed old wood, was selected to enhance the Savoyard soul of the place while integrating contemporary comfort. With its 7 independent bedrooms (including the famous Mio, Frisbee, and Hara Kiri rooms), it guarantees every guest a private space with an en-suite bathroom—an essential feature for the comfort of a group of 15 people.

Chalet Utah: The Lodge Spirit (Currently in Renovation)

A companion to Dakota, Chalet Utah shares the same commitment to quality. Located in immediate proximity to one another, these two chalets allow for group stays of up to 30 people—perfect for family reunions or corporate seminars—all while benefiting from the direct slope access for which we are renowned.

Chalets Designed by Skiers for Skiers

This immediate proximity to the ski chair lifts and the ESF nursery slopes allows every member of the tribe—from the expert skier, the young snowboarder to the children that learn to ski—to move with total independence. It is this freedom of movement, combined with the comfort of premium accommodation, that defines our vision of the mountains.

Practicality is the guiding principle of our interior design. A large group of skiers has specific logistical needs that we anticipated from the very beginning of the space planning.

The Ski Room: Your Decompression Zone

Returning to the chalet should be a moment of relaxation, not a clutter-filled hassle. That is why each property features a vast, heated, and organized ski room:

  • Boot and glove dryers: 16-pair capacity to ensure you head out every morning with warm, dry feet.
  • Dedicated racks: To safely store skis and snowboards without cluttering the living areas.
  • Changing benches: Designed so that transitioning from "skier" mode to "cocooning" mode is completely effortless.

XXL Living Spaces for 15 People

Conviviality shouldn't mean being cramped. Our open-plan kitchens are double-equipped (two dishwashers, two ovens, an immense worktop) to allow for group meal preparation. The large solid wood tables become the stage for your raclette or fondue evenings, while the double living room allows you to separate quiet moments from the children's play area.

This attention to logistical detail is what transforms a simple rental into a seamless Dakota Experience.

Direct Access to the Paradiski Domain: An Infinite Playground

By staying in La Plagne 1800, you are positioned at the heart of one of the largest interconnected ski areas in the world: Paradiski. With 425 km of slopes stretching from 1,250m to 3,250m in altitude, the diversity of the landscapes is breathtaking.

Perched at 1890m with access to altitudes of 3250m, we offers the best ski experience with perfect snow conditions and a pristine snow report throughout the entire Paradiski season.

A Strategic Alpine Mobility Hub

Just 150m from the chalet, you have access to two key lifts:

  • The Plagne 1800 Chairlift: It whisks you toward the Aime 2000, Montalbert & La Roche sectors. From there, you can ascend to the Glacier or board the Vanoise Express, the high-speed cable car that connects La Plagne to Les Arcs in just 4 minutes.
  • The Mélèzes Chairlift: This is your gateway to Plagne Centre & Plagne Bellecote sectors of the resort, perfect for soaking up the sun all day long. From there, you can also take the new Roche de Mio gondola (just above the backcountry ski area) that brings you in 10 minutes to Glaciers and Live 3000, a must-see of our Mountain Resort.
  • Our local beginner ski lift: The perfect starting point to learn to snowboard at your own pace, with complimentary access (free ski-lift).

Whether you enjoy forest skiing among the 1800 pines or the wide high-altitude boulevards on the peaks of Roche de Mio, our ski-in ski-out location in Paradiski ensures you are always in the right place at the right time. La Plagne 1800: Village Life Without the Car

The privilege of a ski-in ski-out rental in Paradiski with our chalets goes beyond just skiing. The entire resort ecosystem is reachable in just a few strides. Within a 3 to 4-minute flat walk from your chalet, you will find everything necessary for your stay.

  • Dining: The best restaurants in the village, such as Le Petit Chaperon Rouge (our top pick for grilled meats) or Le Loup Blanc, are located at the bottom of the village, a 10-minute walk away.
  • Bakery: Les Délices de la Mère Boudu welcomes you from dawn for your fresh bread and pastries (5 minutes on foot).
  • Supermarket: The SPAR supermarket is less than 3 minutes from your chalet.
  • Ski and Snowboard Rentals: Intersport and Skimium-Decathlon ski rental shops are just a 3-minute walk away.
  • Bars & Pubs: La Plagne 1800 is home to 3 bars and pubs, including the famous Bar La Mine (5 minutes on foot).
  • Convenience: The lift pass ski pass sales point is located on the snow front, right next to the ski school to take snowboard lessons. The La Plagne 1800 Tourist Office is situated directly across from the SPAR supermarket (3 minutes on foot).

This proximity to essential shops reinforces the "escape from it all" feel of your stay: once parked in our private car park, your vehicle won't need to move all week. For more details on the best local addresses, browse our complete guide to La Plagne 1800.

A TIP FROM THE DAKOTA TEAM

In La Plagne 1800, you will park your car upon arrival. From then on, everything is within walking distance, and you'll only need to return to your vehicle to clear the snow on your day of departure 😊.

Altitude 1850m: Guaranteed Snow in the Heart of the Tarentaise

In a changing climate, the altitude of your accommodation has become a primary selection criterion. Situated at 1,850 metres above sea level, our chalets in the Alps guarantee exceptional snow quality from the resort's opening until its closing.

The Security of a High-Altitude Rental

Unlike valley-floor resorts, La Plagne 1800 benefits from a cold microclimate preserved by the surrounding forest. Even during milder spells, the high altitude and the slope's aspect ensure that you can always ski back to your door.

The Paradiski domain rises to over 3,000 metres on the Chiaupe Glacier (Live 3000), ensuring that both natural and man-made snow are always present. The return to your chalet is via the blue run that meanders from Plagne Centre to La Plagne 1800 through the larch trees.

The Art of Maximizing Every Moment on the Slopes

Because your holiday time is precious, we have implemented exclusive services to eliminate the usual logistical friction of ski trips, ensuring immediate immersion into the domain.

  • In-Chalet Ski Fitting: Our partner, Oxygène, comes directly to your ski room. Try on your equipment in the comfort of the chalet, avoiding shop queues. (Guest benefit: -20% with Chalet Dakota)
  • Hassle-Free Lift Passes: Thanks to the sales point located on the La Plagne 1800 snow front, collecting your Paradiski Skipasses is done in the blink of an eye upon your arrival on Saturday evening or Sunday morning.
  • Simplified ESF Logistics: For parents, the proximity of the ESF meeting point (a 3-minute flat walk) allows you to drop off the children with peace of mind, freeing you up for the opening of the first lifts.

By optimizing these "downtimes," you gain an average of one extra hour of pure skiing per day. This is the true commitment of a premium ski-in/ski-out chalet rental.

Frequently Asked Questions: Your ski-in ski-out stay in our chalets

What is the actual distance between Chalet Dakota and the slopes?

Our chalets enjoy a prime location in Plagne 1800. It takes just a few steps (less than 150 metres down a quiet cul-de-sac) to reach the slopes on a gentle downhill. This small lane is even skiable for several days after each snowfall. You have direct access to the Lou Garou blue run, which leads down to the Mélèze chairlift at the Plagne 1800 snow front, without having to take a shuttle or your car—a rare luxury for a chalet.

Can you ski back to the chalet?

Yes, getting back is very easy via the blue runs that descend into Plagne 1800, winding through the trees. It is a route accessible to all levels, ideal for a gentle end to the day before enjoying the chalet’s private sauna. It is also possible to ski right to the front door, though this requires taking a path through the forest that is not recommended for beginners.

Where is the nearest ESF meeting point?

The ski school meeting point in Plagne 1800 is located on the main snow front, just a 3-minute walk or a short ski from the chalet. This is one of the major advantages of our location: parents can drop their children off for ski lessons without any logistical stress.

How is ski equipment storage managed at the chalet?

We have a very large dedicated ski room on the ground floor. For your comfort and to preserve the chalet’s reclaimed wood renovation, we ask that ski boots are not worn on the upper floors. Storage bins are provided under the benches, and electric boot and glove dryers ensure your gear is dry and warm for the next day.

Where can I hire ski equipment nearby?

Several expert ski shops are located in Plagne 1800, notably next to the SPAR supermarket, a 3-minute walk away. However, we can also arrange for your rental skis to be delivered directly to the chalet with our partner. This allows families to get fitted out at their own pace in the comfort of the ski room.

Is it easy to access the rest of the Paradiski area?

Perfectly. From Plagne 1800, the Mélèzes or Plagne 1800 chairlifts whisk you towards Plagne Centre, Plagne Bellecote, Aime 2000, or La Roche. To reach Les Arcs, the Vanoise Express is accessible by ski in under 40 minutes (our personal record is 25 minutes 😊). You are at the heart of one of the largest ski areas in the world.
