Summer in La Plagne is a true transformation. Far from the winter rush, the La Plagne area becomes a limitless adventure playground for families. From Chalet Dakota in Plagne 1800, you are perfectly placed for sporting and cultural activities where every age group finds its challenge: from enchanting play areas for the little ones to adrenaline-fuelled Mountain Cart descents for teenagers.
As owners and parents ourselves, we have personally tested and selected the experiences that will make your holiday a memory to cherish. Forget the screens: here, adventure is found among larch forests, high-altitude lakes, and 3,000m peaks. Here are our insider recommendations to help you plan your days.

In La Plagne, the youngest guests are royalty. The resort has designed safe spaces where imagination meets the alpine nature.
This is one of our "secrets" in Plagne 1800. In summer, the only bobsleigh track in France is closed to Bobsleigh but opens to walkers. It’s a 1.5km descent that is completely safe, making it impossible to lose the children. They will love running through the high concrete bends, pretending to be Olympic champions in a unique and shaded setting.
Just 2 minutes by car (or via the free shuttle) from our chalets for rent in the Alps, Plagne Bellecôte is a hub for aquatic fun. The Magic Pool, a large outdoor swimming pool heated to 31°C, offers panoramic views of the peaks. Right next door, the Pump Track allows little ones to try out cycling on a gentle, undulating circuit—perfect for developing balance before tackling the trails.
On the Plagne Centre snow front, giant inflatable structures are set up throughout the summer. It’s the ideal meeting point for a snack break while the children burn off energy under the watchful eyes of parents relaxing on the terraces.
Because a successful holiday also depends on the parents' peace of mind, Chalet Dakota helps simplify your family organisation. We can put you in touch with local nurseries open during the school holidays or reliable babysitters, giving you the freedom to enjoy your sporting activities knowing your little ones are in safe hands.

Teenagers need challenges and a bit of independence. La Plagne offers world-class facilities for adrenaline-fuelled sports and active leisure.
This is the standout activity for 12-17 year olds. From the top of the Colorado chairlift in Plagne Centre, your teens can race down the slopes in a motorless go-kart equipped with powerful brakes. Two options are available: a "relaxed" run on the blue track or a "sporty" challenge on the red. High-speed thrills and plenty of laughs guaranteed.
La Plagne is a premier destination for downhill MTB. Several schools, such as Bike Sensation, offer specific clinics for young riders. Between trying out jumps onto the giant airbag and navigating "single track" forest trails, your teenagers will return to the chalet with stories to tell.
The City Stade in Bellecôte is the main hangout spot for the resort’s younger crowd. Basketball, football, and impromptu tournaments: this is where holiday friendships are made. The proximity to our chalets means teens can head there independently using the resort shuttle buses.
An activity we often enjoy as a family. The Tourist Office offers free orienteering courses (ranging from blue to black). With an IGN map in hand, set off in search of hidden markers in the enchanting Dou du Praz sector. It is fun, educational, and a great way to explore the most beautiful panoramas facing Mont Blanc.
For late afternoons or cooler days, Plagne Centre offers a complete leisure hub. The Les Écrins cinema and Holidays Bowling are essential meeting spots for teenagers wanting to hang out together. The walk through the forest from Plagne 1800 is safe and pleasant, perfect for encouraging their independence.
The orienteering area is truly magical—a journey through a fairytale landscape of goblins and marmots 😍. Perfect for all ages, whether you explore together as a group or split into teams.
For a day of total contrast, head down to Aime-La-Plagne (20 mins). Its leisure base is a true oasis:
Combine a gentle sporting activity with relaxation by the water! Located on the banks of the Isère, the leisure base is the starting (or finishing) point of the Voie Verte, a flat, paved cycle path that runs alongside the river all the way to Bourg-Saint-Maurice.
Top tip: Rent bikes (electric or standard) in Aime, ride the 12km of the Voie Verte through woods and fields, then return to the leisure base for a refreshing dip in the Plan d'Eau d'Aime lake.
Booking direct allows you to avoid platform commissions (approx. 15%) and benefit from the lowest possible rate.
