Where exactly is the chalet located in the Plagne 1800 resort?

The chalet is ideally located on the heights of Plagne 1800, in a quiet area

• 150m from shops (SPAR supermarket, ski rental shops, restaurants, etc.)
• 150m from the slopes and the Plagne 1800 snow front where the ESF ski school and lift pass sales are located.

Everything is within walking distance, in a forested and friendly atmosphere. See the map with the chalet location.

Where are the nearest shops (restaurants, bars, supermarket)?

The SPAR supermarket, restaurants & bars, and ski shops are within walking distance (3 minutes), allowing you to enjoy a hassle-free ski holiday. Unless in an emergency, you won’t need your car during your stay.

How far are the nearest ski slopes?

The slopes are only 150m away, accessible along a small traffic-free dead-end street. You can directly reach a blue slope leading to Plagne Centre and the Mélèzes chairlift and descend in 1 minute to the two chairlifts starting from Plagne 1800.

Are there ski rental shops nearby?

Yes, there are several ski and snowboard rental shops in the Plagne 1800 village center. The closest shops are Intersport, Skimium-Décathlon, and Ski-set. We also offer ski delivery service directly to the chalet.

Can you reach the resort center on foot or by shuttle?

The Plagne 1800 resort center is accessible on foot in less than three minutes. It has everything you need (supermarket, bakery, ski shop, restaurants).

You can also easily reach Plagne Centre

• on foot through the forest (about 17 minutes walk)
• by free shuttle running every 15 minutes (about 2 minutes by shuttle).

How to easily access Plagne 1800 (train, plane, car)?

Plagne 1800 is served by train (Aime-La-Plagne + shuttle/taxi), plane (Geneva, Lyon, Chambéry), and car, with private parking at the chalet. See more info on access to Chalet Dakota.

Accommodation and Capacity

What is the chalet’s maximum capacity?

Chalet Dakota accommodates up to 15 people in 7 renovated rooms, each with its own bathroom. Our ski chalet offers warm living spaces and premium equipment (sauna, TV room, large ski room) over 200m². An ideal solution for groups or families.

How many bedrooms and bathrooms are there?

The chalet has 7 bedrooms, each with a private bathroom (shower or bathtub), ensuring privacy and comfort for all guests.

What is the chalet’s size in square meters?

More than 200m² of warm spaces with a large, bright living room facing the mountains, designed to foster conviviality and tranquility.

Renovation and Amenities

Has the chalet been recently renovated?

Yes, the chalet was fully renovated in summer 2022, offering a modern, comfortable interior with warm decor suited to mountain stays.

What equipment does the chalet have (wifi, fireplace, sauna, etc.)?

High-speed WiFi, wood-burning fireplace, sauna, ski room with boot and glove dryers, TV room, fully equipped kitchen with 2 dishwashers and fondue and raclette appliances, Ethernet office, private parking… everything needed for comfort in winter and summer.

Is there a suitable office for remote work?

Yes, there is an office equipped with Ethernet and performant WiFi in all rooms: remote working is as pleasant as it is practical in this peaceful environment.

Is there a ski room and boot dryer?

A large ski room accommodates skis and boots, with dryers for boots and gloves for 16 people, so you can leave fully equipped every morning.

What is the view from the chalet’s living room?

The living room is flooded with light with large bay windows overlooking the pine forest and mountains, creating a soothing and refreshing atmosphere after skiing.

Does the chalet have outdoor space (balcony, terrace)?

The chalet has a large wrap-around balcony to enjoy views of the pines and panorama, perfect for an aperitif or after skiing. On the first floor, a terrace allows summer guests to enjoy large outdoor dining with a barbecue.

Kitchen and Meals

What kitchen appliances are included?

The kitchen is open and fully equipped: two dishwashers, two ovens, microwave, pastry robot, espresso machine, raclette/fondue appliances, fridge and freezer for festive meals.

Does the chalet provide restaurant or picnic area recommendations?

Yes, we share a chalet and La Plagne guide particularly appreciated by our guests. It includes all activities and our favorites (picnic areas, mountain restaurants, best ski slopes, etc.) to discover La Plagne and Paradiski differently.

Comfort and Services

Is the chalet suitable for families with children?

The chalet is perfect for families: separate bedrooms each with a bathroom, board games, a library with dozens of comics, the ESF ski school nearby, and even a TV room. Is cleaning service included or optional?

End-of-stay cleaning is done to ease your departure. Its price (€250) is indicated in your booking. Cleaning during the stay is also possible.

Is the chalet isolated or close to amenities?

An ideal balance: quiet on the edge of the forest, while being a stone’s throw from shops, bars, restaurants, and ski rental shops in Plagne 1800.

Is there high-speed internet access throughout the chalet?

WiFi works in all bedrooms and living areas, practical for working or staying connected.

Is there a welcome guide or personalized advice to enjoy the region?

A welcome guide is given to discover the area, tips, and personalized advice to fully enjoy Savoie.

Is the chalet accessible to people with reduced mobility?

Unfortunately not. Most rooms are only accessible via stairs. Contact us for any special needs.

Ski and Activities

What is the altitude of the chalet and ski area?

At 1850m altitude in the Paradiski ski area, the chalet ensures abundant snow from December to April for an optimal season. See all winter activities offered by La Plagne.

Does the chalet offer discounted ski passes?

Unfortunately, discounted ski passes are not available year-round. However, when Paradiski runs promotions, especially in January, March, and April, we inform guests so they can benefit.

Is it possible to find snow throughout the season?

Yes, over 70% of La Plagne’s area is above 2000m. The chalet itself is at 1900m altitude. Snow is guaranteed all winter.

Which ski areas are accessible from the chalet?

The chalet is situated at 1900m in the heart of La Plagne domain (over 200km of pistes). La Plagne is also connected to Les Arcs to form Paradiski, with more than 425km of pistes from beginner to expert.

Is the ESF ski school easy to access?

Yes, the ESF ski school for children and adults is located at the Plagne 1800 snow front, a few minutes on foot, convenient for group or private lessons.

What summer activities are available?

La Plagne offers a wide range of activities for all ages: hiking, mountain biking and trail running on alpine paths, water sports such as rafting and canyoning, and via ferrata or climbing for thrill seekers. Booking Policy

What is the booking and cancellation policy?

By booking directly on the Chalet Dakota website, you get the best rates as commissions are added to prices on sites like Booking.com, Airbnb, etc.

A 30% deposit is required at booking, with the balance due 2 months before arrival. There is no refund in case of cancellation.

Are bed linens and towels provided?

Bed linens and towels are optional based on your needs and can be added during booking. Reservations can be updated until one week before your stay to add or remove options. Refunds are given in case of downward modifications.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept credit card, bank transfer, and Paypal payments.

Are pets allowed in the chalet?

Pets of any size are not accepted. Significant amounts are deducted from the deposit if guests bring pets.

Can the chalet be rented for seminars or professional events?

Yes, the large spaces and high-speed internet connection facilitate the organization of seminars or team meetings.

What is the policy regarding parties or music?

Renting the chalet for parties is not allowed. However, our guests may play music during their stay respecting the neighbors.

Is a security deposit required?

Yes, a security deposit of 3,000 euros per stay (not deducted from the balance, as a bank hold) is always required on arrival.

Are there additional fees (tourist taxes, deposit, etc.)?

The reservation includes cleaning fees and tourist taxes. There are no hidden or extra fees. However, a deposit of 3,000 euros as a bank hold will be requested on arrival.

Booking directly on our website avoids commissions from major sites (Booking.com, Airbnb, etc.).

What is the price difference between booking direct and via platforms (Airbnb, Abritel)?

Booking direct saves about 15% compared to platform prices (their commission amount), and offers direct contact with the owner and optimal flexibility.

How far in advance should you book for ski season?

We encourage early booking to secure your dates in winter, as the chalet is highly sought after. For example, for the 2025-2026 winter season,

• 50% of the weeks were booked by the end of the previous season (April 2025)
• 75% of the weeks available were already reserved by mid-July 2025
• The last available week was booked by october 2025
